Grain is Good

Digital Photography and its tack sharp presentation is redirecting viewers to its clinical perfection . I find a lot of attention is given to this, stock agency company's insist on sharp front to back. This is not a bad thing , change is good, quality image production is now open to every camera user.

However as with the joy of using 35mm cameras that authentic back to the past look and seeing perfection in imperfections with the presence of grain sits alongside todays digital perfection.

35mm Film contain light sensitive silver crystals, it is this that delivers grain to images, the faster the film the more grain. If you browse any of the photographic masters you'll witness this amazing grainy texture complementing the presentation of the images

Grain is a recognised part of image reproduction so much so even lightroom allow users to adjust to this feel.

Grain is good use it to add texture, atmosphere and authentic imperfection
