Photographic Gear

I’m often asked “I want to buy a camera what’s the best ”. My first response is always the same , “What do you want to achieve from taking photo’s” . Normally the response ranges from, I want an interesting hobby , or recording life events, to commercial sales. From this start the discussion includes learning skills required ,types of camera and budget. I always reference a new user to ask the question what’s important to them.     

I share with them what’s important to me in that my gear deliver the most vital aspect of photography for me, images. I have certain expectations from my kit, top of which is reliability, it captures what I see accurately , exposed correctly to the settings.

Do I answer the question from the asker , normally not, they tend to leave me pondering options may be confused on the real reason the want to buy a “Good” camera . But I do get satisfaction when they return and inform me I’ve checked out this Brand , it at the right price, allows me to learn, I’ve bought this book to help me and these YouTube channels are really useful to build understanding
