I like this image because ………

Intentional Camera Movement photography, has been a new genre that I’ve got very interested in. Stumbled on to the technique whilst dipping into You-tube watching a video from Thomas Heaton who introduced viewers to Andy Gray . I watched as Andy flicked his Nikon in an upward arch to produce amazing ghostly abstract images .

I love in this digital world of Tack sharp images someone was exploring their creative expression producing from the era of expressionist art, soft evocative photographs . Check out Andy’s art at https://andrewsgray.photography/

To achieve a ICM image I set my shutter to 1/2th Second closing down the aperture and if required fitting an ND Filter dependant on the amount of ambient light . I prefer to use a sharp upward pan to create a stretching of the subject, to deliver an abstract effect without leaving the viewer confused as to what they are looking at.

Its fair to say not everyone cup of tea, its cool to do something left field
