Ansel Adams' 400 Photographs

As a lover of Landscape photography and Black and White images this book was a must have . It covers decades of Adams work, the early pages represents the start of his photographic journey at the age of 14 using a Kodak Box Brownie right through his career.

The body of work and the subject matter is extensive , Yosemite National Park half Dome and El Capiton, feature strongly through the decades . What is also included are monochrome nature images and efforts to produce very sharp images within the F64 Group , all sitting within the scope of subject matter that Adams turned his eye to capture .

This book is all about Images, towards the end is a narrative section that gives insight and puts historic context of the career of this Grand Master . Not all images appeal to me a number I find missed the mark, but there are many that have the X factor . What is difficult to represent is the behind the scenes of work in the dark room touched on in the book, Adams processing skills complimented the image capture of his photography .
